As communities around the world face the devastating effects of climate change, natural disasters, and environmental degradation, social work stands at the critical intersection of care, advocacy, and resilience-building. This Symposium seeks to bring together practitioners, academics, students, activists, and community leaders to explore the transformative role of social work in advancing environmental justice, supporting vulnerable populations, and shaping sustainable futures. It envisions exploring how social work practice, policy, and research can address the intersecting crises of climate change, environmental degradation, and disaster vulnerability, especially among marginalized populations.
